Bandibuli Energy will host the ‘2024 Floating Offshore Wind Technology Symposium’ on 29th October at Amoris, GS Tower, Yeoksam, Seoul. The event will gather leading experts in floating offshore wind and leading supply chain companies. Additionally, key Korean companies such as Samsung Heavy Industries, POSCO E&C, and Doosan Enerbility will join the event to share their vision for advancing Korea’s floating offshore wind industry and explore practical opportunities for technical collaboration.
The symposium will be divided into two main sessions. The morning session will focus on Equinor’s outlook for floating offshore wind, including case studies from Equinor’s global projects, such as the world’s largest operating floating wind farms—Hywind Tampen and Hywind Scotland. In the afternoon session, leading Korean companies including Samsung Heavy Industries, POSCO E&C, and Doosan Enerbility will present their innovative floating wind solutions, onshore construction and installation technologies, and large turbine solutions.
Bjørn Inge Braathen, Country Manager of Equinor Korea, stated, “This symposium will be an important platform for fostering the growth of Korea’s floating offshore wind industry and supporting its entry into the global market.”
Torgeir Nakken, Project Director of the Bandibuli Floating Offshore Wind Project, added, ” We aim to share the experience we gain through the Bandibuli project and will actively support the technological development and building of a track record within floating offshore wind for Korean companies.”
Through this event, Equinor wants to strengthen cooperation with Korean companies and explore opportunities for new investments and joint development projects. The focus will be on technology collaboration and supporting domestic companies in building global competitiveness through the Bandibuli Floating Offshore Wind Project.

The symposium is organized together with the Norwegian Embassy in Korea and Innovation Norway. Her Excellency Anne Kari Hansen Ovind, Ambassador of Norway to Korea, and Tae-Sik Lee, Chairman of the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies, will also deliver speeches at the event.
